The STARRETT 10470 is a welded carbon steel bandsaw blade engineered for consistent performance on contour and straight cuts across a range of materials. Part of the Duratec SFB series, this blade measures 93.5 inches in total length, 3/16 inch wide, and 0.025 inches thick. It runs at a constant 10 teeth per inch (TPI) with a straight tooth form and raker tooth set, delivering a balanced cut that handles both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and plywood. The flexible back type allows the blade to track reliably on bandsaw wheels without fatigue cracking under normal operating cycles.
This blade is suited for use in shop and production environments where a light-duty, fixed-pitch blade covers a wide variety of stock. The 10 TPI constant pitch is a common general-purpose configuration used on benchtop and mid-size vertical bandsaws in metal fabrication, woodworking, and HVAC sheet metal shops. Its material application range includes ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, and plywood, making it a versatile single-blade option for techs and machinists cutting varied stock in the same session.
Designed as a welded replacement bandsaw blade for vertical bandsaws accepting a 93.5-inch blade length and 3/16-inch blade width. Verify wheel diameter and blade guide clearance on the target saw before installation.
Bandsaw blade replacement should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with the saw manufacturer guidelines. Power down and lock out the saw at the disconnect before opening blade guards or removing the worn blade. Ensure blade tension is set according to the saw manufacturer specification for the blade width being installed. Inspect blade guides, thrust bearings, and wheels for wear before running the new blade.
