The STARRETT 10357 is a welded carbon steel bandsaw blade from the Duratec SFB series, designed for contour cutting on stationary band saws in fabrication, metalworking, and light industrial shops. The blade runs 5 feet in length, 1/2 inch wide, and 0.025 inches thick, with a constant 18 teeth-per-inch (TPI) pitch. A wavy tooth set reduces vibration and chatter during cuts. The straight tooth form and flexible back type make this blade well-suited to curved and contour work where consistent tooth engagement matters throughout the cut.
This blade fits applications involving ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, and plywood. The 18 TPI constant pitch is most effective on thinner stock and tubing where fine, controlled cuts are required. It is a common choice in maintenance shops, HVAC fabrication environments, and general metalworking situations where a pre-welded, ready-to-install blade is preferred over field-welded stock.
Suitable for band saws accepting a 5-foot, 1/2-inch wide welded blade. Compatible material applications include ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, and plywood.
A licensed or qualified technician should power down and fully de-energize the band saw before blade removal or installation. Verify wheel diameter and blade guide clearance before mounting to confirm proper blade tracking. Blade tension should be set according to the machine manufacturer's specifications for the blade width. Eye protection and cut-resistant gloves are standard PPE during blade handling.
