The STARRETT 10104 is a carbon steel band saw blade coil stock designed for continuous-length cutting applications in metalworking, woodworking, and general fabrication shops. The coil measures 100 feet in length and 0.5 inches wide with a blade thickness of 0.025 inches. At 3 teeth per inch with a hook tooth form and raker set, this blade is suited for aggressive stock removal on thicker cross-sections. The flexible back construction allows the blade to be cut to length and welded on-site to fit a wide range of band saw frame sizes. Installers and tool room technicians typically stock coil inventory to service multiple machines from a single roll.
This coil stock is appropriate for use in horizontal and vertical band saws found in job shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication environments. The constant pitch pattern and positive rake angle promote consistent chip load and smooth feed during straight cuts. The toothed cutting edge with raker set clears chips efficiently, making it well suited for cutting solid stock, bar stock, and structural shapes. The 100-foot coil length provides enough material to produce multiple blades before restocking.
Designed as a coil stock replacement for band saws accepting 0.5 inch wide blades with a 0.025 inch thickness; confirm wheel diameter, blade guide clearance, and welder capacity before cutting to length.
Blade cutting and welding should be performed by a qualified technician using a band saw blade welder and grinder. Disconnect and lock out power to the band saw before removing the old blade or installing a new one. After welding, dress the weld joint flush and inspect for cracks before tensioning. Follow the band saw manufacturer's recommended blade tension and tracking procedure for 0.5 inch wide blades.
