The STARRETT 10020 is a carbon steel band saw blade coil stock designed for continuous-length blade fabrication and custom-cut applications. It ships as a 100-foot coil in a 3/8-inch blade width with a 0.025-inch blade thickness, giving shops and service technicians the flexibility to cut blades to exact lengths as jobs require. The 18-teeth-per-inch constant pitch tooth configuration with a straight rake angle and wavy tooth set is well suited for controlled, smooth cuts in thin-section and contour work. The flexible back construction reduces fatigue cracking during operation on tighter radius cuts.
This coil stock is used in metal-cutting and general fabrication environments where blade length must be customized on-site or in a shop setting. The 3/8-inch width and 18 TPI configuration handle contour cutting tasks in a range of materials. The wavy set pattern distributes cutting load across multiple teeth, which extends blade life in production-cutting scenarios. Maintenance shops, fabrication facilities, and trade service operations that run band saws regularly benefit from stocking coil-length blade material rather than relying on pre-cut blade loops.
Designed as a coil-stock replacement for band saw blades requiring a 3/8-inch width and 0.025-inch thickness profile, compatible with band saws that accept standard flexible-back carbon steel blade stock of this gauge and width.
Blade fabrication from coil stock should be performed by qualified personnel using appropriate blade-joining equipment such as a resistance welder or mechanical connector rated for the blade gauge. Disengage and lock out power to the band saw before removing the old blade or installing a new one, in accordance with applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify wheel diameter and blade guide spacing on the saw are appropriate for a 3/8-inch blade width before installation. Proper blade tension per the saw manufacturer's specification should be set before resuming cutting operations.
