The STARRETT 01117 is an electronic outside micrometer designed for precise dimensional measurement in professional machining, toolroom, and quality-control environments. It measures external dimensions up to 2 inches with a resolution of 0.000050 inches and an accuracy of +/-0.00010 inches. The solid carbide measuring faces resist wear under repeated use, and the IP67 rating provides full protection against dust ingress and temporary immersion in water. A ratchet stop thimble delivers consistent measuring pressure across readings. The satin chrome finish reduces glare under shop lighting. Machinists, tool and die makers, and metrology technicians are the primary installers and users of this instrument.
The 01117 is suited for residential shop use, production floor measurement, and toolroom inspection tasks where high-resolution electronic readout is required. The lever-style lock nut holds the spindle position during transfer measurements. The rotating spindle accommodates standard measurement technique.
