The STARRETT 00057 is a welded carbon steel bandsaw blade from the Duratec SFB series, designed for contour cutting across a range of materials in shop and industrial environments. The blade runs 10 feet long and 1/2 inch wide, with a thickness of 0.025 inches and a constant 18 teeth-per-inch pitch. Both the blade body and tooth material are carbon steel, rated M42 material grade. The wavy tooth set and straight tooth form work together to reduce blade chatter and extend service life during repetitive cuts. Licensed machinists, fabricators, and tool-room technicians are the primary installers and users of this blade.
The 00057 is suited for contour cutting on vertical or horizontal bandsaws in production and maintenance shops. Its 18 TPI constant pitch makes it effective on ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and plywood. The flexible back type allows the blade to track smoothly around bandsaw wheels without fatigue cracking under normal operating tension. Applications include cutting structural stock, tubing, bar stock, and sheet goods where a fine, consistent kerf is required.
Compatible with bandsaw machines that accept a 10-foot blade in 1/2 inch width. Suitable for cutting ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, and plywood as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or technician familiar with bandsaw blade tensioning and tracking procedures. Disconnect and lock out power to the bandsaw before removing the old blade or installing this one. Verify that wheel diameter and blade guide spacing on the machine are appropriate for a 1/2 inch wide blade before tensioning. Follow the machine manufacturer's tensioning guidelines and confirm proper blade tracking before resuming cuts.
