The STANLEY 34-793 is a 200-foot fiberglass blade tape measure built for layout and measurement work on job sites where long-distance accuracy matters. The blade is 1/2 inch wide with a polymer coating for durability and smooth retraction. Graduation is marked in 1/8-inch increments using an engineer scale, which also includes 1/10 and 1/100 foot markings for decimal-foot calculations common in civil, survey-style, and commercial construction layout. The ABS case is finished in black and yellow for high visibility. At 2.64 pounds, it is a solid, field-ready tool.
This tape measure is suited for commercial construction, mechanical room layout, site measurement, and any application requiring accurate long-range linear measurement. The engineer scale graduation makes it particularly useful for trades and contractors who work from plans expressed in decimal feet rather than fractional inches. It is appropriate for HVAC duct layout, plumbing rough-in planning, electrical conduit runs, and general site measurement tasks where a standard 25-foot or 35-foot tape falls short.
Designed as a general-purpose long-range tape measure suitable for commercial and residential construction, mechanical trades, and site layout applications where 200-foot reach and engineer scale readability are required.
This tape measure requires no installation. When using a fiberglass blade tape at extended lengths, support the blade at intermediate points to maintain measurement accuracy and prevent blade damage. Avoid dragging the blade across sharp edges or abrasive surfaces, as this can degrade the polymer coating over time. Store the tape fully retracted and keep it away from prolonged moisture exposure to preserve blade integrity.
