The STANLEY 34-762 is a 300-foot fiberglass blade tape measure built for contractors, surveyors, civil techs, and other trades that work in engineer scale. The blade is 1/2 inch wide with 1/8-inch fractional graduations and engineer scale graduations in decimal feet (0.10, 1/10, and 1/100 foot), making it accurate enough for layout work where both systems need to be read off the same tape. The ABS case is black and yellow for job-site visibility. At 3.89 pounds, the unit has the weight typical of a long-range fiberglass reel tape. No belt clip is included.
This tape is suited for long-distance linear measurement in residential and commercial construction, land surveying support, infrastructure layout, and utility installation. The engineer scale graduation makes it a practical choice when working alongside grade stakes, elevation plans, or drawings dimensioned in decimal feet. It fits standard reel-tape workflows on open job sites, large footprint slabs, utility corridors, and similar applications where a standard 25-foot or 35-foot steel pocket tape is insufficient.
Designed as a standard long-range fiberglass reel tape suitable for general construction, surveying support, and trade layout applications requiring engineer scale graduation.
Fiberglass long tapes are deployed and retrieved by field personnel; no power tools or licensed trade certification is required for use. Keep the blade free of kinks and avoid dragging it over sharp edges or abrasive surfaces, as blade damage affects measurement accuracy. Reel the blade back under controlled tension to prevent tangling. Store the tape away from prolonged UV exposure and chemical solvents that can degrade fiberglass and ABS materials.
