The STANLEY 3003838l is a LENOX SPEED SLOT bi-metal hole saw featuring T2 Technology, designed for professional cutting in metal fabrication, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC rough-in applications. The saw cuts a 2-3/8 inch diameter opening to a cutting depth of 1-7/8 inches, with an overall length of 3-1/4 inches. The bi-metal construction pairs a high-speed steel toothed cutting edge with a durable backing body, delivering consistent performance across a wide range of workpiece materials. A 5/8 inch arbor and 1/2 inch hex shank connect to standard drill chucks, and the included 1/4 inch pilot drill centers each cut accurately. Licensed trades including electricians, plumbers, and HVAC installers rely on this format for conduit knockouts, pipe penetrations, and equipment mounting holes.
This hole saw is suited for use on stainless steel, mild steel, cast iron, copper, brass, aluminum, plastic, wood, and composition board, covering the material range commonly encountered in commercial and residential service work. The 2-3/8 inch cut diameter is a frequently specified size for conduit and pipe rough-in penetrations. The SPEED SLOT design allows for faster plug ejection compared to standard hole saw bodies, reducing downtime on repetitive cuts. Compatible arbors include the 2L, 6L Snap-Back and the 2L, 3L, 6L, or 7L standard arbor series from LENOX.
Compatible with LENOX arbors 2L and 6L Snap-Back, and 2L, 3L, 6L, or 7L standard arbors. Fits drills with a 1/4 inch chuck or 1/2 inch chuck using the included hex shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified tradesperson following applicable codes for the work being performed, including NEC requirements for electrical penetrations or IPC and IFGC requirements for plumbing and gas pipe rough-ins. Secure the workpiece before cutting and use appropriate cutting fluid when working through stainless steel or cast iron to prevent premature tooth wear. Allow the saw to reach full speed before contacting the workpiece, and relieve pressure near breakthrough to prevent binding. Confirm the correct arbor is securely engaged before operation.
