The STANDARD ABRASIVES 7010310318 is an unmounted nonwoven flap wheel designed for surface finishing, blending, and light deburring on metal, wood, and composite materials. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive, this medium-grade wheel delivers consistent cutting action across the flap surface throughout its service life. The 8-inch outside diameter and 1-inch face width make it suited for contoured surface work and edge blending on larger workpieces. It operates up to 3,200 RPM and mounts on compatible arbors or mandrels via its 3-inch center hole. Fabricators, metalworkers, and finishing technicians are the primary users of this wheel type.
This flap wheel is used in industrial and shop environments for weld blending, surface prep before coating, and scratch removal on flat or slightly contoured surfaces. The nonwoven construction conforms to irregular surfaces better than bonded abrasive wheels, making it a practical choice for finishing work that requires a consistent, controlled scratch pattern. The medium grade is appropriate for general-purpose metal finishing where aggressive stock removal is not required. It is sold and packaged individually.
Designed for use on arbors and mandrels that accept a 3-inch center hole unmounted flap wheel with an 8-inch outside diameter.
Installation of unmounted flap wheels should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive wheel mounting procedures. Always power down and de-energize the tool before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 3,200 max RPM rating of the wheel before operation. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and follow ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel mounting and guarding.
