The STANDARD ABRASIVES 7000047099 is a 2-inch non-woven aluminum oxide quick-change disc designed for surface conditioning, blending, and light deburring on metal and similar substrates. It uses a Type S (SocAtt) attaching system for tool-free disc swaps on compatible right-angle grinders and die grinders. The non-woven construction allows the abrasive to conform to irregular surfaces without loading, making it well suited for finishing passes where a consistent scratch pattern matters. Rated at a maximum of 30,000 RPM, it fits compact grinder heads used in tight access areas. This disc is sold as a single unit and is appropriate for use by metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, and industrial tradespeople.
This disc is used in metal fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and light industrial environments where surface prep or blending work is performed on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and similar materials. The coarse grade makes it effective for initial passes to remove surface scale, weld discoloration, or light corrosion before transitioning to finer finishing steps. Its small 2-inch diameter is ideal for confined weld joints, tubing, pipe ends, and other restricted workspaces where a standard 4-inch or larger disc cannot reach.
Compatible with right-angle grinders and die grinders equipped with a Type S quick-change mandrel or holder. Designed as a direct-fit surface conditioning disc for tools accepting 2-inch Type S accessories.
Installation is performed by a trained operator or tool technician. Always power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before mounting or removing the disc. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the disc maximum rated RPM of 30,000 before operation. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not operate a disc that shows tears, delamination, or button damage.
