The STANDARD ABRASIVES 7000046743 is a 2-inch diameter quick-change abrasive disc designed for surface conditioning, light deburring, and blending tasks on metal and similar substrates. Built with aluminum oxide non-woven construction in a fine grade, it delivers consistent scratch patterns without aggressive material removal. The Type S attaching system allows fast, tool-free disc changes on compatible rotary tools and die grinders, keeping downtime low during production or repair work. Rated to 12000 RPM, it suits high-speed pneumatic and electric grinders commonly used in fabrication, maintenance, and finishing applications. The maroon color indicates fine grade within the GP series lineup.
This disc is used in metalworking shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication environments where surface prep, weld blending, or finish work is performed. It is well suited for deburring edges, prepping surfaces before coating or welding, and light cleaning of metal parts. The non-woven aluminum oxide construction conforms slightly to contoured surfaces, making it useful on irregular workpieces. Licensed tradespeople in manufacturing, pipefitting, and general industrial maintenance will find this disc appropriate for recurring surface conditioning tasks on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Designed for use with Type S quick-change mandrels on pneumatic and electric die grinders rated for 2-inch accessories up to 12000 RPM.
Installation is performed by pressing the disc onto a compatible Type S mandrel until it seats fully against the backing pad. Confirm the grinder is unplugged or the air supply is disconnected before mounting or removing the disc. Do not exceed the 12000 RPM maximum speed rating, and inspect the disc for tears or deformation before each use. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required per ANSI B11 and shop safety standards during grinding and surface conditioning operations.
