The SQUARE D LA11021 is a shunt trip accessory designed for use with compatible Square D circuit breakers. A shunt trip allows the breaker to be remotely tripped — opened — by applying a control voltage signal to the coil, which triggers the breaker mechanism without manual intervention. The LA11021 operates on a control voltage of 120 to 240 volts AC. It is installed inside the breaker assembly by licensed electricians and is commonly used in fire alarm, emergency shutoff, and remote disconnect applications where automatic or remote power interruption is required.
This shunt trip accessory is suited for commercial and industrial electrical installations where code-mandated or system-designed remote tripping capability is required. Typical applications include emergency power-off systems, fire suppression panel integration, generator transfer schemes, and other scenarios where a control signal must be able to de-energize a circuit without a technician physically operating the breaker. It is an internal breaker accessory and must be matched to a compatible Square D breaker frame.
Designed as an OEM-style shunt trip accessory for compatible Square D circuit breaker frames. Verify breaker frame compatibility against Square D documentation before ordering, as shunt trip accessories are frame-specific.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the breaker and all associated circuits before installing or servicing any internal breaker accessory. The shunt trip coil must be wired to the appropriate control circuit as specified by the system design; control wiring must be rated for the voltage applied. Do not energize the shunt trip coil continuously — shunt trip coils are rated for momentary duty only and will overheat if held energized.
