The Square D HOM2040M100PRB is a Homeline series main breaker load center rated at 100 amps, designed for outdoor residential electrical service. It arrives with the main breaker factory-installed and features plug-on neutral technology, which eliminates the need for a separate neutral pigtail wire during circuit breaker installation. The combination cover supports both flush and surface mounting, giving installers flexibility on the jobsite. With 20 spaces and support for up to 40 single-pole circuits, this panel is well-suited for residential services requiring a compact but capable distribution point.
This load center is intended for outdoor installations in residential applications. The enclosure is rated for exterior use, making it appropriate for detached garages, outbuildings, and meter-main configurations where the panel must be mounted outside. The plug-on neutral bus design is compatible with Homeline plug-on neutral breakers, streamlining installation and reducing wiring clutter inside the enclosure. Licensed electricians performing new service installations or panel replacements will find this unit ready to work directly from the box with the main breaker already installed.
Designed as an OEM-style load center for use with Square D Homeline plug-on neutral single-pole and double-pole circuit breakers in outdoor residential service applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the incoming service at the utility meter before making any connections inside the enclosure. Verify that the mounting surface is plumb and structurally sound before securing the panel, and ensure the enclosure is properly grounded and bonded per NEC requirements. Do not exceed the panel's rated ampacity on the incoming service conductors.
