The SQUARE D HDL36100C is a 3-pole, molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 amps at 600 VAC and 250 VDC. It uses a thermal-magnetic tripping mechanism to provide overcurrent and short-circuit protection in industrial and commercial power distribution panels. The HDL36100C accepts wire sizes from 14 AWG through 3/0 AWG via lug-style terminal connections, making it compatible with a wide range of conductor sizes. Panel mount installation keeps it suited for load centers, switchboards, and distribution equipment where reliable branch-circuit protection is required. Licensed electricians and qualified electrical contractors are the primary installers for this class of device.
The HDL36100C is applied in commercial and industrial electrical distribution systems where 3-phase or multi-pole branch circuit protection is needed. Its 600 VAC rating covers standard North American 480-volt three-phase systems as well as lower-voltage applications. The 250 VDC rating extends its use to DC bus and battery-backed systems. Multiple breaking capacity ratings give system designers flexibility when specifying fault-current withstand requirements for different panel locations and service conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement molded case circuit breaker for commercial and industrial panel mount applications requiring a 3-pole, 100-amp, 600 VAC thermal-magnetic device.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the panel before installing or replacing the breaker. Verify that conductor sizing, terminal torque requirements, and available fault current at the point of installation comply with the breaker specifications and the panel manufacturer requirements. Do not use the device outside its rated voltage or current parameters.
