The SQUARE D HDA261002 is a 2-pole, plug-in molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 amps at 600 VAC. It uses a thermal-magnetic trip mechanism to provide both overload and short-circuit protection in a single device. The thermal element responds to sustained overcurrent conditions, while the magnetic element trips instantly on high-fault current. Terminal connections support I-Line and lug configurations, with wire range of 14 AWG through 3/0 AWG. This breaker is installed by licensed electricians in commercial and industrial panel applications requiring robust overcurrent protection.
The HDA261002 is suited for commercial and industrial distribution panels where 2-pole, 600 VAC protection is required. The I-Line connection type makes it compatible with Square D I-Line panelboards, while lug terminations provide flexibility for direct conductor landing. Typical applications include branch circuit protection for motors, HVAC equipment, and other heavy-load circuits in facilities requiring multiple breaking capacity ratings across different fault-current environments.
Designed for use with Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards that accept plug-in molded case circuit breakers with I-Line or lug termination. Verify panel bus rating, available fault current, and frame compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the panel before installing or replacing the breaker. Confirm that conductor sizing, torque requirements, and panel bus ratings meet the requirements listed in the breaker and panelboard documentation. Do not exceed the rated wire range or install in a panel with available fault current exceeding the breaker breaking capacity rating.
