The SQUARE D FAL12015 is a single-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 15 amps at 240 volts AC. It uses a thermal-magnetic trip mechanism to protect circuits from both sustained overloads and short-circuit faults. The breaker is individually mounted and features a toggle-switch reset actuator for manual operation. With a breaking capacity of 10 kA at 240 VAC, it provides reliable fault interruption in residential and light commercial electrical systems. Wire termination is via lug-style connections, accepting 12 to 4 AWG aluminum or 14 to 4 AWG copper conductors. Licensed electricians install this type of breaker in panelboards, load centers, and distribution equipment.
The FAL12015 is suited for single-pole branch circuit protection in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications. It is commonly installed in load centers and panelboards where 240-volt single-pole protection is required, such as dedicated circuits for small HVAC equipment, appliances, and general-purpose branch loads. The lug terminal design accommodates both aluminum and copper wiring, making it practical for retrofit and new-construction installations alike.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement molded case circuit breaker for single-pole 240-volt branch circuit applications in compatible panelboards and load centers.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the panelboard and verify the absence of voltage at all terminals before handling or installing the breaker. Ensure conductor sizing and termination torque comply with the panel manufacturer's specifications and NEC Article 240. Do not exceed the conductor gauge range listed for the lug terminals.
