The SQUARE D EDB14050 is a single-pole, bolt-on miniature circuit breaker rated at 50 amps and 277 volts. It delivers 18 kA interrupting capacity, making it suitable for demanding branch circuit protection in commercial and light industrial panelboard applications. The bolt-on mount type ensures a secure, vibration-resistant connection to the bus. Lug terminals accept 12 and 14 AWG conductors. Electricians and electrical contractors install this breaker as a branch circuit protective device where panel space, voltage rating, and interrupting capacity must all align with local code requirements.
The EDB14050 is designed for use with NF Panelboards in commercial electrical distribution systems. Typical applications include lighting branch circuits operating at 277 volts, which is standard in commercial fluorescent and LED fixture wiring tied to 480Y/277-volt three-phase services. The single-pole configuration handles one ungrounded conductor, and the bolt-on mounting style is required in panelboards where vibration or high fault current exposure makes clip-style retention insufficient.
Designed for use with SQUARE D NF Panelboards requiring a bolt-on style miniature circuit breaker.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the panelboard before removing or installing any breaker. Verify that conductor gauge, circuit voltage, and available fault current at the panel do not exceed the breaker ratings before placing the breaker in service. Do not install this breaker in a panelboard that does not support bolt-on style breakers.
