Product Description

The Square D CC180.0 Thermal Unit offers protection for motors, controllers, and branch circuit conductors against excessive heating. This unit is suitable for prolonged motor overcurrents, including locked rotor currents. The branch circuit fuses or circuit breakers safeguard against higher currents from short circuits or grounds. Class 20 thermal units are designed to respond to overload conditions according to trip curves and will trip in 20 seconds or less. The unit features a one-piece construction, allowing the motor current to pass through a heater winding. Under overload, the heat melts a special solder, triggering a ratchet wheel to disengage and open the motor contacts.
