The SQUARE D 9012GDW5 is an electromechanical pressure and level switch rated for 3 to 150 psig, designed for use in hydraulic and pneumatic control systems. It features a single-pole double-throw with double-break (SPDT-DB) contact form and a fixed differential pressure setting with a maximum differential of 6 psi. Voltage compatibility spans 120 VAC, 240 VAC, 125 VDC, and 250 VDC, making it adaptable across a range of control circuit configurations. Screw terminal connections simplify field wiring. Licensed electricians and industrial controls technicians are the primary installers of this switch in automated or manually controlled fluid-power systems.
The 9012GDW5 is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial applications where reliable pressure sensing is required in hydraulic or pneumatic circuits. Its vibration-resistant construction allows installation in environments subject to mechanical vibration, such as compressor rooms, pump stations, or machine control panels. The fluid connection uses a 1/4 inch port and conduit entry is 1/2 inch, fitting standard control enclosure knockouts. NEMA 4, 4X, and 13 ratings make it appropriate for indoor and outdoor installations exposed to dust, oil, and washdown conditions.
Designed for use with hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems as stated by the manufacturer. The 1/4 inch fluid connection port and 1/2 inch conduit entry are standard fitments in industrial and commercial control panel applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or licensed controls technician in accordance with NEC requirements and applicable local codes. De-energize the control circuit and depressurize the system fully before making any connections or removing the existing switch. Use appropriately rated conduit fittings for the 1/2 inch conduit entry to maintain the NEMA enclosure rating. Do not exceed the rated pressure or voltage limits specified for this switch.
