The SPORLAN 400210 is a sealed liquid line filter-drier from the Catch-All series, designed to remove moisture, acid, and solid contaminants from refrigerant circuits. With a 5 cubic inch core and 5/16 inch ODF solder connections, this drier is sized for small-tonnage systems in the 1/2 to 1 ton nominal capacity range. It measures 2.44 inches in diameter and 4.4 inches in length, making it a compact drop-in component for tight line sets. HVAC-R technicians install this unit on the liquid line upstream of the metering device to protect the system from contaminants that cause compressor damage and valve failure.
The 400210 is suited for residential and light commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems operating in the 1/2 to 1 ton capacity range. It fits liquid line installations where ODF solder connections are specified and core volume requirements fall at or around 5 cubic inches. Typical applications include split systems, package units, and small refrigeration circuits where moisture and acid control are critical to system longevity.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement liquid line filter-drier for residential and light commercial refrigerant systems requiring a 5/16 inch ODF solder connection and a 5 cubic inch core capacity.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC-R technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 certification. Recover all refrigerant and confirm the system is de-pressurized before cutting into the liquid line. Flow-direction arrows on the drier shell must be observed — install with refrigerant flow toward the outlet end. After brazing, evacuate the system to the required micron level before recharging to prevent re-introduction of moisture.
