The SPORLAN 169223 is a Type ER thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) rated at 1.5 tons (18,000 BTU/h) for use with R404A refrigerant. It features a small brass bar body with a replaceable thermostatic element, balanced port construction, and external adjustment. The inlet connection is 3/8 inch ODF and the outlet is 1/2 inch ODF, with solder-type connections on both ends. A 50-mesh insertable strainer is included. Maximum operating pressure is 450 psi. Licensed HVAC technicians install this valve as part of refrigerant system service or evaporator coil replacement work.

This valve is designed for refrigeration and air conditioning systems operating on R404A refrigerant. It is rated at a nominal evaporator temperature of 40 degrees F and a nominal liquid temperature of 100 degrees F, with a nominal pressure drop of 100 psi. The externally equalized design suits applications where evaporator pressure drop is a factor. The Z thermostatic charge and element size 43 support stable superheat control across typical operating conditions. The 60-inch capillary length provides flexibility in bulb placement during installation.

Installation Notes
