Use the appropriate stylus wrench and the torque specification recommended by the CMM probe head manufacturer — do not overtighten, as M2 threads are fine and the stylus shank can fracture. After installation, always run a full calibration or qualification routine on a reference sphere before resuming inspection tasks.
