It covers a measurement range of 0 to 12 inches with a resolution of 0.0001 inches and an accuracy of 0.0003 inches. The unit features a 4-inch flat base, a ratchet thimble for consistent measuring force, and a rotating spindle. The stainless steel measuring faces resist wear and corrosion during regular shop use. This depth micrometer is suited for measuring slot depths, counterbore depths, and step heights on precision machined components. This instrument is installed and operated by machinists, metrologists, or quality control technicians. Handle with care to avoid dropping, as impact can affect calibration; recalibrate per ASME B89.1.13 guidelines if the instrument is subjected to shock.
