The SPI CMS160712100 is a mechanical groove micrometer designed for precision measurement of grooves, recesses, and narrow channels on machined components. It measures inside dimensions from 0.06 to 1.05 inches and outside dimensions from 0 to 1 inch, with a graduation and accuracy of 0.001 inches. The carbide-tipped anvil and non-rotating spindle maintain measurement integrity across repeated use. A 13mm measuring disc diameter and 3.38-inch reach length allow access to deep or confined grooves. This instrument is calibrated and ships with a Short Form Certificate of Calibration backed by NIST traceability. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and quality control inspectors working with precision-machined parts are the primary users.
This groove micrometer suits applications in manufacturing, toolroom inspection, and quality assurance environments where standard micrometers cannot reach into grooves or undercut features. It is appropriate for measuring snap ring grooves, O-ring grooves, retaining ring recesses, and similar internal and external features on shafts, bores, and housings. The chrome finish and case-included packaging support bench use and field calibration rounds alike.

This instrument requires no installation. Calibrated measurement tools should be zeroed and verified against a known standard before use. Store in the included case when not in use to protect the carbide measuring surfaces. Do not expose to impact, extreme temperatures, or corrosive fluids, as these conditions can affect calibration.
