The SPI 91-415-0 is a single parallel-leaf feeler gauge used to measure precise gaps in mechanical assemblies, engine components, and HVAC equipment. The leaf measures 1.00 mm in thickness, 0.5 inches wide, and 12 inches long, providing enough reach for deep or recessed measurement points. Constructed from high carbon steel, the blade resists wear and holds its calibration through repeated use. Technicians use this type of gauge when setting valve clearances, spark plug gaps, burner orifice clearances, and other tight-tolerance adjustments where a specific gap must be confirmed before a component is returned to service.
This feeler gauge is suited for use in residential and commercial service environments where gap measurement is required during installation, adjustment, or maintenance procedures. HVAC technicians commonly use parallel-leaf gauges when setting igniter gaps, checking heat exchanger fin spacing, or verifying burner alignment. Automotive and mechanical trades use them for engine valve and bearing clearance checks. The 12-inch leaf length allows access to locations that shorter gauges cannot reach.

Feeler gauges are hand tools and require no installation, but proper use requires that both mating surfaces be clean and free of debris before inserting the blade. Apply only light hand pressure when sliding the leaf into a gap — forcing the blade can spring the leaf and alter its thickness over time. Store the gauge in a dry location to prevent corrosion on the carbon steel blade.
