The SPI 37-204-5 is a double-end plug thread gage used to verify internal thread quality on M22x1.5 tapped holes to the 6H tolerance class. One end carries the Go member and the other carries the No Go member, allowing a technician to confirm both the minimum material condition and the maximum material condition in a single tool. A handle is included. This gage is suited for precision machining, quality control, and inspection environments where metric thread conformance must be documented against ANSI and NIST traceability standards.
This gage is used in machine shops, manufacturing cells, and inspection departments working with metric M22x1.5 threaded components. Typical applications include verifying tapped holes in hydraulic fittings, fastener bores, and mechanical assemblies where 6H class thread tolerances are specified. Thread gages are inspection tools, not cutting tools — never force the Go end through a hole or use it to clear chips or debris. The Go end should pass through the threaded feature under hand pressure only; the No Go end must not enter more than two turns. Keep gages clean and lightly oiled when stored to prevent corrosion that would affect calibration accuracy. Periodic recalibration by a certified metrology lab is recommended to maintain traceability compliance.
