The SPI 37-190-6 is a double-end plug thread gage designed to inspect M8x1 metric threads to the 6H tolerance class. It provides both Go and No Go inspection in a single tool, allowing machinists and quality control technicians to verify that threaded bores fall within acceptable dimensional limits. The Go end confirms the thread can accept a mating fastener, while the No Go end confirms the bore has not been cut oversize. A handle is included. The gage ships with an ANSI traceability certification traceable to NIST standards, making it suitable for documented inspection processes.
This gage is used in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and precision assembly environments where M8x1 threaded holes must be verified before parts proceed to the next stage of production. It is appropriate for inspection of tapped holes in components produced for industrial, automotive, and mechanical applications where 6H class thread tolerances are specified. Quality inspectors, machinists, and tool crib personnel are the primary users.
Designed for inspection of M8x1 internally threaded bores held to the 6H tolerance class per standard metric thread specifications.
Thread gages are inspection tools, not cutting tools. Always clean threads and the gage before use to prevent debris from affecting readings or damaging gage surfaces. The Go end should pass through the full length of the threaded hole under hand pressure only; never force it. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to preserve calibration and surface finish.
