The SPI 37-187-2 is a double-end plug thread gage designed to verify internal M5x0.8 threads to the 6H tolerance class. One end carries the Go member and the opposite end carries the No Go member, allowing a technician to confirm both minimum material condition and maximum material condition in a single tool. A handle is included. The gage is traceable to NIST standards and ships with an ANSI traceability certification, making it suitable for quality-control documentation requirements in production and inspection environments. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool-room inspectors use this type of gage for in-process and final inspection of tapped holes.
This gage is used wherever M5x0.8 internally threaded features require conformance verification against 6H class limits. Typical applications include inspection of tapped holes in precision machined components, fixtures, and assemblies. The double-end design consolidates Go and No Go checking into one compact gage, reducing changeover time at the inspection station. The included handle provides a consistent grip for repeatable gage application and helps protect the gage members from handling damage.
Designed for inspection of M5x0.8 internal threads conforming to 6H class tolerance limits per applicable thread standards.
Thread gages are inspection tools, not cutting tools — never force a Go or No Go member into a tapped hole. Apply the Go member by hand with light, even pressure along the thread axis; it should pass through freely. The No Go member should not enter beyond two turns. Clean the gage members before each use and store them protected from impact and corrosion to maintain calibration integrity.
