The SPI 37-185-6 is a double-end plug thread gage designed to inspect M4x0.7 metric internal threads to the 6H tolerance class. One end is the Go member and the opposite end is the No Go member, allowing a technician to verify both minimum and maximum thread tolerance in a single tool. A handle is included. The gage is traceable to NIST standards and ships with an ANSI traceability certification, making it suitable for quality-control environments where documentation is required. Machinists, quality inspectors, and tool-room technicians use this type of gage to confirm threaded holes are within specification before parts move to assembly.
This gage is used wherever M4x0.7 threaded holes must be verified to the 6H tolerance class. Typical applications include incoming inspection of machined components, in-process thread verification on CNC or manually tapped parts, and final inspection in manufacturing environments. The double-end configuration reduces the number of individual gages needed when checking both Go and No Go conditions on the same feature.
Designed for inspection of M4x0.7 metric internal threads manufactured to the 6H tolerance class per ANSI and NIST-referenced standards.
Thread gages are inspection tools and do not require installation in the traditional sense. Handle the gage with clean, dry hands or lint-free gloves to prevent corrosion and contamination of the thread members. Apply light, consistent hand pressure when gauging — never force the Go member or apply torque tools. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to preserve thread-form accuracy.
