The SPI 37-121-1 is a single-end Go plug thread gage designed to verify internal M16x2 metric threads to the 6H tolerance class. It checks that a tapped hole meets the minimum material condition required for proper thread fit, confirming the thread form and pitch diameter fall within specification. The gage body measures 1.88 inches in length with a 0.63-inch diameter and weighs 0.22 pounds. A handle is not included and must be sourced separately. Traceability certification is provided to ANSI standards with NIST traceability, making it suitable for documented quality inspection processes in manufacturing, maintenance, and precision assembly environments.
This gage is used wherever M16x2 internal threads must be confirmed to 6H tolerance prior to assembly or release. Typical applications include incoming inspection of threaded components, in-process verification during machining operations, and final inspection in production settings. Machinists, quality technicians, and maintenance professionals use Go plug gages like this one to confirm that a tapped hole will accept a mating fastener without interference caused by undersized or malformed threads.
Designed for verifying M16x2 metric internal threads held to the 6H tolerance class. Compatible with standard gage handle sets sized for the 0.63-inch gage body diameter. Not intended for use with 6g external thread inspection.
Thread gages are precision instruments and should be handled and stored carefully to avoid damage to the gage member. Before use, ensure the tapped hole is clean and free of chips or coolant that could affect the reading. The Go gage should pass freely through the full thread length under hand pressure only — never force a thread gage. Periodic recalibration against NIST-traceable standards is recommended to maintain measurement integrity.
