The SPI 34-476-2 is a single-ring threaded ring gage used to verify that an externally threaded fastener or component does not exceed the maximum material condition for a Class 6G metric thread. Designated as a No Go gage, it checks the high limit of the thread tolerance — a conforming part should not pass through. The gage is manufactured from Oil Hardened Non-Shrinking Steel (OHNS), which provides dimensional stability and wear resistance under repeated inspection use. An NPL Traceability Certification is included, supporting quality management and calibration documentation requirements.
This gage is intended for use in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and quality inspection environments where M6 x 1.00 metric threads must be verified to Class 6G tolerance. It is suited for incoming inspection, in-process control, and final inspection of threaded parts such as bolts, screws, and threaded shafts. The single-ring design is the standard configuration for thread go/no-go inspection at this thread size. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool room personnel are the typical users.
Designed for inspection of externally threaded components with an M6 x 1.00 metric thread form manufactured to Class 6G tolerance per standard metric thread specifications.
Thread ring gages are precision measuring instruments and should be handled and stored with care to prevent damage to the gage thread form. Before use, clean all mating surfaces and apply a light gage oil to protect against corrosion and reduce wear. Do not force the gage onto a threaded part — a conforming No Go gage should not engage more than two turns under hand pressure. Periodic recalibration against NPL-traceable setting plugs is recommended to maintain inspection accuracy.
