The SPI 34-475-4 is a single-ring threaded ring gage used to verify the external thread dimensions of M6 x 1.00 metric fasteners and threaded components. Manufactured from Oil Hardened Non-Shrinking Steel (OHNS), this Go-class gage checks that a threaded workpiece falls within the lower tolerance boundary of a Class 6G fit. When the Go gage passes over the thread without interference, the part meets the minimum functional thread requirement. NPL Traceability Certification is included, supporting quality assurance documentation requirements in production and inspection environments. Machinists, quality technicians, and toolroom professionals use this gage as part of a go/no-go inspection routine.
This gage is suited for inspection of M6 x 1.00 externally threaded parts in manufacturing, machining, and assembly operations. Class 6G is the standard tolerance class for general-purpose metric external threads, making this gage appropriate for a wide range of production and incoming inspection applications. It is used as a single Go ring, meaning it is paired with a separate No-Go ring gage to complete a full thread tolerance check. Typical environments include machine shops, production floors, and quality control labs.
Designed for inspection of externally threaded workpieces with M6 x 1.00 metric thread form at Class 6G tolerance. Compatible with any standard M6 x 1.00 threaded part requiring go/no-go thread verification per metric thread standards.
Thread ring gages are handled and used by quality technicians and machinists — no installation in a mechanical system is required. Store the gage in a clean, dry environment and apply a light film of oil to prevent corrosion. Do not force the gage onto a threaded part; if resistance is encountered, the part is out of tolerance. Periodic recalibration against traceable standards is recommended to maintain inspection accuracy.
