The SPI 34-459-8 is a single-ring threaded ring gage used to verify the external thread form and pitch diameter of M2 x 0.40 metric fasteners and threaded components. This is the Go member of a Go/No-Go gage pair, meaning a conforming part must pass fully through this gage to confirm the thread pitch diameter falls within the lower tolerance boundary of Class 6G. Manufactured from Oil Hardened Non-Shrinking Steel (OHNS), the gage maintains dimensional stability over repeated use. NPL Traceability Certification is included, supporting documented calibration programs in ISO or AS9100-registered facilities. Machinists, quality technicians, and metrology professionals use this gage in production inspection and incoming-goods verification.
This gage is intended for inspecting external metric threads sized M2 x 0.40 held to Class 6G tolerance, which represents a standard-fit general-purpose thread classification for metric fasteners. Typical applications include verifying threaded pins, studs, bolts, and machined parts in precision manufacturing environments such as medical device, aerospace, and electronics assembly where small-diameter metric threads are common. The single-ring design handles the Go function only; a separate No-Go ring is required for full tolerance-boundary verification.
Designed for inspection of external metric M2 x 0.40 Class 6G threaded components. Use with a matching M2 x 0.40 Class 6G No-Go threaded ring gage to complete a full Go/No-Go inspection set.
Threaded ring gages are precision inspection instruments and should be handled by qualified metrology or quality-control personnel. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use and keep it lightly oiled to prevent corrosion. Do not apply excessive force when presenting a part to the gage — a Go gage should pass under the weight of the part alone for small-diameter threads. Verify the gage against a calibrated setting plug at regular intervals per your facility calibration schedule.
