The SPI 34-415-0 is a double-end plug thread gage used to verify internal thread compliance to 5/8-24 thread specifications at a 2B tolerance class. One end carries the Go member and the other the No Go member, allowing a technician to confirm both the minimum and maximum material conditions of a tapped hole in a single tool. The gage ships with a size 3 handle and includes a traceability certification traceable to NIST standards. The steel construction provides durability under repeated inspection use in shop or field environments. This tool is suited for quality control personnel, machinists, and inspectors working to dimensional thread standards.
This gage is appropriate for inspecting 5/8-24 threaded holes in production, incoming inspection, or field verification applications. The 2B classification corresponds to the standard tolerance class for general-purpose inch internal threads, making this gage widely applicable across machined parts, assemblies, and threaded components where thread fit and form must be confirmed before assembly or acceptance. The double-end configuration reduces the number of gages required at a workstation and speeds up the Go/No Go inspection sequence.
Designed for inspection of 5/8-24 class 2B internal threads in accordance with NIST-referenced inch thread standards. Compatible with standard size 3 plug gage handles.
Thread gages are inspection tools and do not require installation in a mechanical system. Handle the gage with clean, dry hands or lint-free gloves to prevent corrosion on the precision ground surfaces. Apply the Go member with light, consistent hand pressure — forced entry indicates an out-of-tolerance condition and the gage should not be forced through. Store in the provided case or a protected location away from other tooling to prevent nicking or wear on the thread members.
