The SPI 34-397-0 is a double-end plug thread gage used to inspect 7/16-28 UNF internal threads to 2B tolerance class. One end carries the Go member and the opposite end carries the No Go member, allowing a technician to confirm both the minimum and maximum material condition of a threaded hole in a single tool. The gage ships with a size 2 handle already installed. A NIST-traceable traceability certification is included, supporting quality-system documentation requirements in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and precision machining environments.
This gage is suited for inspection stations, machine-shop floor use, and incoming-quality-control applications wherever 7/16-28 UNF threaded components must be verified. The 2B classification covers the standard tolerance range for most commercial and industrial fastener applications. Machinists, quality inspectors, and toolroom technicians are the primary users. The double-end configuration keeps both Go and No Go members on one handle, reducing the number of individual tools needed at a gauging station.
Designed for inspection of 7/16-28 UNF internal threaded features held to 2B tolerance class. Confirm thread form and tolerance class of the workpiece before use.
Plug thread gages are used by quality inspectors and machinists — not installed into a system, but handled with care to preserve gage accuracy. Store the gage in its case when not in use and keep it clean and lightly oiled to prevent corrosion on the steel members. Never force the Go end through a thread; hand pressure only is required. Recertify the gage on a schedule consistent with your quality management system requirements.
