The SPI 34-366-5 is a double-end Go/No Go plug thread gage designed to verify internal thread conformance to the 8-36 Unified National thread standard. The Go end checks that threads meet minimum material condition, while the No Go end confirms the threads do not exceed maximum material condition. Made from steel, this gage is suited for quality control and inspection use in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance environments. A handle is included. NIST traceability certification is included, supporting documented calibration requirements.
This plug thread gage is used wherever precise verification of 8-36 internal threads is required. Typical applications include incoming inspection of threaded fastener holes, in-process thread checking on machined components, and final inspection before assembly. The double-end design allows both Go and No Go checks to be performed with a single tool, reducing changeover time on the shop floor. The 3B classification indicates a standard tolerance class suitable for general-purpose threaded assemblies.
Designed for inspection and verification of 8-36 internal threads conforming to 3B class tolerance requirements in general-purpose threaded assemblies.
Thread gages are precision inspection instruments and should be handled by qualified inspection or machining personnel. Store the gage in its case when not in use to protect the thread form from damage. Do not force the gage into a threaded hole — if the Go end does not pass with light hand pressure, the thread is out of tolerance. Clean threads of chips, oil, and debris before gauging to ensure accurate readings.
