The SPI 34-325-1 is a single-end Go plug thread gage machined from steel and designed to verify internal thread conformance to a 7/8-14 thread form at 6H tolerance class. Go gages confirm that a threaded hole meets the minimum material condition, allowing a properly formed mating fastener to pass through without force. This tool is a standard instrument used by machinists, quality technicians, and precision metrology professionals during in-process and final inspection of tapped holes. The 34-325-1 ships without a handle; a size 4 handle is required and must be sourced separately before use. Traceability documentation to NIST is included.
This gage is used in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and inspection departments wherever 7/8-14 unified fine threads must be verified against ANSI and NIST standards. Single-end configuration makes it straightforward to deploy in high-volume production inspection or maintenance environments where Go verification is the primary check required.
Designed for use with a size 4 plug gage handle (not included) to inspect 7/8-14 unified fine internal threads conforming to 6H class tolerances per ANSI standards.
Thread gages are installed by qualified machinists or metrology technicians using a compatible size 4 handle. Never force the Go gage into a tapped hole; if resistance is met, the hole should be re-inspected rather than forcing the gage through. Store gages in protective cases when not in use to prevent damage to thread form surfaces. Follow ANSI and NIST gage calibration intervals to maintain measurement traceability.
