The SPI 34-266-7 is a single-end No Go plug thread gage used to verify internal thread dimensions on machined parts and assemblies. It is designed to check that a threaded hole does not accept an oversized member, confirming the thread falls within the upper tolerance boundary of the 6H classification. Made from steel, this gage is built for repeated use in production and quality-control environments. NIST traceability is included, supporting documented inspection processes in shops operating under ISO, AS9100, or similar quality management systems. A size 1 handle is required for use but is not included with this gage.
This plug thread gage is suited for use in precision manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking shops where 5/16-32 UN internal threads must be verified to ANSI and NIST standards. It is a standard tool for quality inspectors, machinists, and tool-room technicians performing go/no-go acceptance testing on threaded bores in production or receiving inspection settings.
Designed for use with size 1 plug thread gage handles. Fits standard handle systems accepting size 1 gage blanks. Handle is not included and must be sourced separately.
Thread plug gages are installed and used by quality inspectors and machinists in inspection or production environments. Before use, clean the threaded bore and gage member thoroughly to remove chips, coolant, and debris that could affect readings. The No Go member should not enter the threaded hole more than two turns under hand pressure alone; forced insertion can damage both the gage and the part. Store gages in a protective case away from other tooling to prevent wear and maintain calibration integrity.
