The SPI 34-244-4 is a single-end Go plug thread gage designed to verify the minimum material condition of internal threads. Built from steel and rated to 6H tolerance class, this gage checks whether a 12-24 threaded hole accepts a fastener without interference. It follows the Go principle: a conforming part accepts the gage; a non-conforming part does not. The 34-244-4 is sized for a Size 0 handle, which is sold separately. It is used by machinists, quality control inspectors, and toolroom technicians working to ANSI thread standards with NIST-traceable certification included.
This gage is suited for production floor inspection and incoming quality control in manufacturing, fabrication, and precision machining environments. It is used wherever 12-24 unified coarse internal threads must be verified for dimensional conformance before assembly. The 6H tolerance class is the standard fit for general-purpose 12-24 threaded fastener applications. A single-end design means one gage member per tool, which simplifies gage selection when only Go verification is required.
Designed for use with Size 0 plug thread gage handles, which are not included. Suitable for inspecting 12-24 unified coarse internal threads to 6H tolerance class per ANSI standards.
A compatible Size 0 handle must be sourced separately before use. Insert the gage member into the handle following the handle manufacturer's instructions and ensure it is secured before inspection. Clean and dry threaded holes before gaging to avoid false readings. Store the gage in a protective case away from other metal tooling to prevent wear to the thread form.
