The SPI 34-237-8 is a single-end No Go plug thread gage designed to verify that an internal thread does not exceed its maximum material condition. Built from steel, this gage checks 8-36 thread forms to the 6H tolerance classification per ANSI standards. It is used to confirm a threaded hole will reject an out-of-tolerance condition, helping machinists and quality inspectors maintain tight thread tolerances on production and inspection floors. The gage ships without a handle; a Size 0 handle is required for use and must be sourced separately. NIST traceability certification is included with each unit.
This gage is suited for inspection of 8-36 unified fine internal threads in manufacturing, machining, and assembly environments. Typical applications include quality control checks on threaded holes in precision components across aerospace, automotive, and general machining trades. The No Go member is used as part of a complete Go/No Go inspection process to reject threads that fall outside the high-limit specification. It is a standard tool on machine shop inspection benches and in receiving inspection departments.
Designed for use with Size 0 plug thread gage handles (not included). Intended for inspection of 8-36 unified fine internal threads per ANSI and NIST standards.
Thread gages should be handled with care to prevent damage to the precision ground surfaces. Before use, attach the gage to a compatible Size 0 handle and confirm the gage is clean and free of debris. Apply light gage oil during inspection to extend service life and protect the gage surface. Gages should be re-calibrated periodically per your quality management system requirements to maintain NIST traceability.
