The SPI 34-217-0 is a single-end Go plug thread gage used to verify the minimum material condition of internal threads. Manufactured from steel to a 6H tolerance class, it checks 4-48 UNC thread forms for conformance during production inspection or incoming quality control. The gage is designed for use with a Size 0 handle, sold separately. Traceability certification to NIST standards is included, making this gage suitable for environments that require documented calibration traceability. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool room personnel use this gage as part of standard thread verification procedures.
This plug thread gage is intended for inspecting small-diameter 4-48 internally threaded components. Typical applications include fastener hole verification in precision assemblies, acceptance testing of machined parts, and in-process quality checks on production lines. The Go member confirms that the internal thread meets the minimum size requirement and that a mating fastener will engage properly. It is suited for both shop floor use and inspection lab environments where ANSI-compliant thread gaging is required.
Designed for use with a Size 0 plug gage handle (not included). Suitable for inspecting any internally threaded component with a 4-48 thread form requiring 6H class verification per ANSI standards.
Thread gages are precision instruments and should be handled by qualified inspection or machining personnel. Before use, ensure the gage and workpiece threads are clean and free of chips, burrs, or cutting fluid that could affect measurement accuracy. Do not force the Go member through the thread — proper engagement should occur with light hand pressure only. Store the gage in a protective case and recalibrate at intervals appropriate to usage frequency and shop quality requirements.
