The SPI 34-208-9 is a single-end Go plug thread gage designed to verify internal thread conformance on 3-48 unified inch threads to the 6H tolerance class. Machined from steel, this gage is used to confirm that a tapped hole falls within the acceptable maximum material condition limit, ensuring mating parts will assemble correctly. It ships without a handle — a Size 0 handle is required for use and must be ordered separately. Calibration traceability is provided to NIST standards, making it suitable for quality-controlled production and inspection environments.
This gage is used in precision machining, manufacturing, and assembly inspection applications where 3-48 internal threads must be verified before parts move to the next stage. It is appropriate for incoming inspection, in-process quality control, and final acceptance checks. The 6H classification aligns with standard commercial and industrial thread tolerances. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users in both job-shop and production-floor settings.
Designed for use with Size 0 plug thread gage handles sold separately. Suitable for inspecting 3-48 unified inch internal threads to the 6H tolerance class per ANSI standards.
This gage must be mounted in a compatible Size 0 handle before use — do not attempt to use the gage member without a properly fitted handle. Apply light, consistent hand pressure when threading the gage into the part; forcing the gage can damage both the gage and the workpiece threads. Store the gage in a clean, dry environment and inspect it periodically for wear, as a worn Go gage may pass non-conforming parts. Calibration should be verified at intervals consistent with your facility's quality management system.
