The SPI 31-389-0 is a stainless steel angle gage used to measure and verify angular dimensions in machining, fabrication, and layout work. It features a 50-degree primary angle and a 130-degree complementary angle, giving tradespeople two reference surfaces in a single compact tool. The one-piece stainless steel construction resists corrosion and holds its geometry under shop conditions. At 0.01 pounds, it is lightweight enough for frequent handheld use without fatigue. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and fabricators reach for this type of gage when checking mating angles on workpieces, fixtures, or setups.
This angle gage is suited for precision layout and inspection tasks on the shop floor or at the bench. It works well for checking bevels, chamfers, dovetails, and other angular features where a fixed-reference gage is faster and more repeatable than a protractor. Both primary and complementary angles are ground into the tool, so the same gage covers inside and outside angle checks without flipping to a second instrument. Typical users include machinists, quality-control technicians, and tool makers working in production or job-shop environments.
Designed as a fixed-reference angle gage for general-purpose angular measurement and inspection in machining and fabrication applications.
No installation is required for this hand tool. Keep the reference surfaces clean and free of burrs before use to ensure accurate contact with the workpiece. Store in a protective case or pouch to prevent nicking the precision ground edges. Periodically verify the gage against a certified angle block if critical tolerances are involved.
