The SPI 30-910-4 is an 81-piece rectangular steel gage block set manufactured to Grade 0 accuracy. It covers a measurement range of 0.05 to 4 inches across four step-increment series: 49 blocks in 0.001-inch increments, 19 blocks in 0.05-inch increments, 9 blocks in 0.0001-inch increments, and 4 blocks in 1.000-inch increments. Tolerances are held to +4 / -2 microinches over the 0.050-to-1-inch range, +8 / -4 microinches at 2 inches, +10 / -5 microinches at 3 inches, and +12 / -6 microinches at 4 inches. Each block is individually serialized and the set ships with a NIST Traceability Certification. Machinists, metrologists, and quality technicians use this set for layout, calibration, and inspection work.
This gage block set is suited for machine shops, tool rooms, calibration labs, and quality control departments that require Grade 0 precision for dimensional inspection and instrument calibration. The wide range of step increments allows technicians to stack blocks and build virtually any target dimension within the 0.05-to-4-inch span. The included NIST Traceability Certification meets documentation requirements for ISO and other quality management system audits. Compliance with ASME B89.1.9-2002 ensures the set meets the recognized national standard for gage block accuracy and geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or upgrade set compatible with standard rectangular gage block holders, cases, and accessories sized for inch-series gage blocks conforming to ASME B89.1.9-2002.
Gage blocks should be handled by metrology technicians or qualified inspection personnel following ASME B89.1.9-2002 handling guidelines. Clean and deburr any mating surfaces before wringing blocks together to prevent damage to the lapped faces. Store blocks in the supplied case with a light coat of approved corrosion-preventive oil when not in use. Avoid dropping or sliding blocks on hard surfaces, as edge damage will affect wringing and measurement accuracy.
