The SPI 29-603-8 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed for precision bore and hole measurement in machine shop and quality-control environments. It checks whether a hole or bore falls within a specified dimensional range, making it a standard tool for go/no-go inspection workflows. Manufactured from steel, the 29-603-8 measures a nominal diameter of 0.603 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, providing the accuracy required for close-tolerance inspection work. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and quality technicians rely on Class ZZ gages for production inspection and process verification.
This plug gage is suited for use in manufacturing, fabrication, and inspection settings where repeatable bore measurement is required. It is appropriate for both low-volume and production-run inspection of machined holes, drilled bores, and precision-fit features at or near the 0.603-inch nominal diameter. The steel construction supports consistent performance across normal shop temperature ranges.
Designed as a standard Class ZZ Plus plug gage for inspection of machined holes and bores with a nominal diameter of 0.603 inches.
Plug gages are handled and used by machinists and quality inspection personnel, not installed in a mechanical system. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to prevent surface damage that could affect accuracy. Clean the gage and the bore being checked before use to remove chips, coolant, or debris. Do not force the gage into a bore; light hand pressure is sufficient for a proper go/no-go check.
