The SPI 23-205-8 is a double-ring threaded ring gage designed to verify external thread conformance on 1-8 UNC fasteners and threaded components. The set includes both a Go ring and a No Go ring in a single double-ring configuration, allowing technicians to confirm that a threaded part falls within the acceptable tolerance band for Class 2A external threads. Constructed from tool steel for durability and dimensional stability, this gage meets NIST standards and ships with a NIST traceability certification. It is the standard choice for quality control inspection in machining, manufacturing, and industrial trade environments.
This gage is used wherever 1-8 UNC external threads must be inspected to Class 2A tolerance requirements. Typical applications include incoming inspection of threaded fasteners, in-process verification during machining operations, and final inspection of threaded assemblies. The double-ring design consolidates Go and No Go checks into a single tool, reducing the number of gages required at an inspection station. It is appropriate for use in shop floor, toolroom, and quality lab settings.
Designed for inspection of 1-8 UNC external threads manufactured to Class 2A tolerance specifications.
Threaded ring gages are handled and stored by quality control personnel and machinists, not installed in a mechanical system. Handle gages carefully to avoid dropping or contact with abrasive surfaces that could alter the thread form. Store in a clean, dry environment away from cutting fluids and chips. Calibrate or re-certify periodically per your facility quality management program to maintain traceability.
