The SPI 23-190-2 is a truncated taperlock thread plug gage designed to inspect 5/8-18 UNF internal threads to Class 2A tolerance. It includes both Go and No Go members mounted on a 3-inch handle, allowing technicians to verify thread acceptance and rejection in a single tool. Constructed from tool steel for durability and dimensional stability, this gage is used in quality control, incoming inspection, and production floor verification wherever precision-threaded fastener holes must be confirmed before assembly. The truncated taperlock design allows quick member changes without special tools.
This gage is suited for inspection and metrology applications in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and general industrial environments where 5/8-18 UNF threaded holes require verification against Class 2A thread form standards. It is appropriate for use by quality technicians, machinists, and tool room personnel. The included handle and taperlock design make it practical for high-volume production inspection as well as low-volume precision work.
Designed for inspection of 5/8-18 UNF internally threaded components held to Class 2A thread tolerance. Compatible with standard taperlock handle systems accepting the truncated taperlock member format.
Thread plug gages are installed and removed by hand with no power tools required. Before use, ensure the taperlock member is fully seated and locked in the handle. Store gages in a protective case when not in use to prevent damage to the thread form. Periodic calibration against a traceable standard is recommended to maintain measurement integrity.
