The SPI 23-123-3 is a double-ring threaded ring gage designed to verify the external thread form and tolerance of 3-48 unified inch screw threads to Class 2A fit standards. It includes both a Go ring and a No Go ring in a single double-ring configuration, allowing technicians to confirm that a threaded workpiece falls within the acceptable tolerance zone without requiring two separate gages. Manufactured from tool steel, this gage meets NIST traceability standards and ships with a NIST traceability certification. It is used in precision machining, quality inspection, and manufacturing environments where thread conformance must be documented and verified.
This gage is suited for inspection of small-diameter fasteners and threaded components machined to the 3-48 unified national coarse thread specification at Class 2A tolerance. Class 2A is the standard fit class for the majority of commercial fasteners and general-purpose threaded hardware. The double-ring format makes it practical for incoming inspection, in-process quality control, and final inspection on the shop floor or in a calibration lab. A NIST traceability certificate is included, supporting quality management system requirements such as ISO 9001 documentation.
Designed for inspection of external 3-48 unified inch threads manufactured to Class 2A fit tolerance. Suitable for use in quality inspection processes wherever 3-48 Class 2A threaded parts are produced or received.
Thread ring gages are inspection tools and do not require installation in a system. Gages should be used by trained quality technicians or machinists following standard gauging practice. Keep the gage clean and lightly oiled when not in use to prevent corrosion and preserve dimensional accuracy. Periodic recalibration against NIST-traceable masters is recommended to maintain measurement integrity.
