The SPI 21-115-1 is a steel ball contact point designed for use with dial test indicators. It replaces the standard contact tip on compatible test indicators, providing a precise spherical contact surface for accurate measurement readings. The ball diameter is 0.059 inches (1.50 mm) and the contact point length is 0.497 inches. This type of contact point is used by machinists, quality control technicians, and tool and die professionals who require consistent stylus contact when measuring runout, flatness, or surface variation on workpieces.
This contact point is suited for precision measurement applications in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and inspection environments. It threads onto the indicator spindle in place of the original contact point. The 0.059-inch ball diameter makes it appropriate for general-purpose indicator work where a small, well-defined contact area is needed. Compatible with Tesa test indicators as specified by the manufacturer.
Designed for use with Tesa test indicators as stated by the manufacturer.
Contact point replacement is typically performed by machinists or metrology technicians. Before replacing the contact tip, remove the indicator from any active measuring setup and secure it in a holding fixture or indicator stand. Use the appropriate flat wrench or contact point tool to unthread the existing tip without applying side load to the indicator spindle. Do not overtighten the replacement contact point, as excessive torque can damage the spindle thread.
